Africa Humanitarian Action (AHA) marked its 15th Anniversary and held its Fifth Assembly of International Trustees on 1 and 2 June 2009 in Addis Abeba.

AHA and its stakeholders reflected on the organization’s 15 years of dedicated humanitarian service, as well as sparked a change process to reinvigorate its vision and mission.

West African Media Network honors AHA for its health care services in Liberia through their annual International NGO of the Year Award.

In a letter, Mr. Joseph S. Wiah, Managing Editor of the network, expressed that AHA was selected as winner of the International NGO of the Year 2008 in Health Sector Award based on the organization’s “level of dedication, commitment and professionalism”. He notes that AHA’s immense contribution to the health care delivery system of Liberia and the dedicated services rendered by AHA to the Liberian people were carefully evaluated before bestowing this prize on the organization.

A ceremony to commemorate this recognition will be held today (April 30, 2009) in Monrovia.

AHA extends its sincere gratitude to the West African Media Network for acknowledging the efforts of AHA Liberia and for their engagement in the humanitarian arena.
